Christmas in Paris made me somehow miss Christmas in Romania, even though I never believed I would ever say this. There is no snow, people seem tense and the “marché de noel” is a bad joke.

So I decided to do something, so I made uninteresting things... christmasy.

I recycled old electronic Christmas cards - those cards that would play an 8-bit carol when you opened them. I used to see them as an awesome piece of technology when I was little and I still think, today, that they are a lovely kitschy thing. So I created a device that I later attached to the elevator doors in my building. The result was a somewhat “Christmas elevator tune” - a one day insanity that made my neighbours remember it’s Christmas time and therefore they should smile more.
